If anyone is reading this, welcome to my rabbit hole.
I’ve never written a blog before, so bear with me. I’m not a writer, but I have a basic grasp of the concept.
I am an artist. A painter, to be precise. I paint with acrylic paint on canvas, multimedia paper, art board, and the occasional rescued piece of wood/slate/metal. I started painting about two years ago, and it was really rough in the beginning. Like, super rough. I had no idea what I was doing, and I almost gave up. I would go months without painting and then feel like I had a stroke of creative genius and crank out a (terrible) work of art.
Then I discovered YouTube tutorials, and started learning painting techniques from people who actually knew what they were doing!
Now I am consistently painting a couple times a week. I can tell that I’m getting better, but I still feel awkward calling myself an artist and don’t know how to respond when someone asks me to sell them a painting.
The point is…
Starting tomorrow, for the next 365 days I will be painting something every single day, no matter what happens. It might be a glorious original painting. I might follow a tutorial on YouTube. It might just be a creature. Who knows, maybe I’ll paint an ear.
I will be posting 365 blog posts, complete with photos of my work for each day. It is my hope that over the next year I will be able to learn to embrace the title of artist and increase my skill level so I can confidently sell my paintings.
You might even find yourself entertained.
