Hi!
Today I wanted to follow a painting tutorial on YouTube. My creativity felt drained after a long week of painting, and I just wanted someone else to tell me how and what to paint. It took hours to decide which tutorial to follow, but I finally found one that I thought would teach me something new and different. It was a new video by The Art Sherpa called- you guessed it- The Perfect Wave. I could tell you I painted this colorful beach and sky all by myself with no help from anyone, but I like to give credit where credit is due. The video is about 3 hours and 15 minutes long, but it took me about 5 hours to finish because I don’t paint nearly as fast as her and I kept getting lost. I don’t usually watch her tutorials because she uses so many colors that I get intimidated and give up before I even start painting, but this time I had most of the colors she listed, so I gave it a go.
The materials…
I usually prefer to create dark, moody paintings, but by the time I was done with this one, my palette paper looked like this:
Mine didn’t turn out quite like hers, but I think it’s still pretty good!
If you have any suggestions for upcoming paintings, feel free to leave a comment. I’m sure I’ll run out of ideas long before the year is up.
Thanks for stopping by!
