Day 41: Chihiro and Haku

I know what you’re thinking. This sounds like another lame anime painting. Well, I’ve got news for you:

It is.

I know I just made a post a few days ago about how I don’t think I can be a great artist and paint nothing but fan art, blah blah blah…

…but as my skills improve I find that I’m able to paint all the things I love, and that brings me joy. I guess that’s more important to me than selling paintings.

You might remember from an earlier post that one of my favorite Studio Ghibli movies is Spirited Away. It’s an adorable movie about a 10 year old girl named Chihiro who stumbles upon a hidden spirit resort with her parents. Her parents get turned into pigs and the rest of the movie is about her trying to save them. She also accidentally saves a cute boy/ lost river spirit/ dragon, Haku.

I’ve tried to paint this picture of Chihiro and Haku so many times, but I could never get it to look anything like I wanted it to. I’m pretty happy with how it turned out this time, though.

I think this might be my longest post yet!

Thanks for stopping by 😁
